Data collection, environmental monitoring and underwater exploration of oceans by marine scientists continue to become characterized by a heightened challenge globally. We have been working on Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) that can satisfy the most testing needs of marine research at Seaward tech. This is why our USV platform is the reliable solution of scientific groups worldwide.
1. Precision Data Collection for Critical Research
Our USVs have highly-accurate sensors and measure systems which provide a dependable oceanographic data. Researchers can also be confident of our platforms to collect stable and high-resolution data to support their research, whether mapping the seafloor topography, monitoring the quality of water or tracking marine life.
2. Extended Endurance for Uninterrupted Missions
Marine researches need to operate in distant areas over prolonged time. Our USVs can be powered to maintain presence at sea with efficient power management, and optional hybrid propulsion capabilities that our USVs can also operate longer in the water to facilitate ongoing data collection, which cannot be accomplished with traditional crewed vessels.
3. Modular Design for Versatile Research Applications
Realizing no two research projects are the same, we designed our USVs with modular payload bays. Our platform is extremely versatile: vessels can be easily equipped with special facilities to deal with unexpected research agendas, such as multibeam sonars to conduct bathymetry or water samplers to gather chemical measurements.
4. Robust Performance in Challenging Conditions
The weather is not supposed to go bad and shut down ocean research. Our USVs have stable hull design and sophisticated navigation systems capable of and maintaining the ability to operate even in the most severe sea states to ensure data is collected when the need is highest.
5. Seamless Integration with Subsurface Assets
Our USVs are able to work in collaboration with AUVs and additional underwater sensors to provide complete ocean observation. The platform has two functions, namely launch/recovery system and data relay hub, forming an integrated observation network that provides the scientists with the full view over the entire column of water.
6. User-Friendly Operation for Research Teams
We have focused on convenient operation interfaces, automatized control systems allowing the researcher to concentrate on the science and not on the operations of the vessel. The ability to monitor remotely enables scientists to monitor missions and access real time data no matter what location in the world they are in.
7. Eco-Conscious Design Aligned with Research Values
The minimal environmental impact of our USVs due to electric propulsion capabilities and low acoustic signature is essential for both types of studies, in ecological research where environmental disturbance is undesirable and studies in protected areas where disturbance must be kept to an absolute minimum.
That is why at Seaward Tech we have made it our mission to develop marine technology through our innovative use of USVs. Researcher-driven initiatives create our platforms, which we test with the direct input of the scientific community ensuring that their functions further benefit research.
