1. Inconsistent Torque Output
Symptoms: Changes in the applied torque, under or over tightening of bolts.
Possible Causes:
Restorative changes in hydraulic pressure
Damaged/worn torque sensor
Kept improper hydraulics fluid
Solutions:
Check stability of hydraulic system pressure
Calibration of the torque sensor should be done on regular bases
Change hydraulic fluid and look at possible leaks
2. Seal Failure or Water Ingress
Symptoms: The presence of moisture in the tool, the decrease of performance or corrosions.

Bad O-rings or seals
Excessive depth beyond rated specifications
Improper storage after use

Before exerting torque make sure you are aligned well
Before installing bolts, examine bolts and check whether they are damaged or not.
5. Communication Errors (for ROV-Integrated Systems)
Symptoms: no reception of torque or control signals.
Possible Causes:
Bad electric connections
Problems of software compatibility
Deep water signal interference

Inspect all connections to see whether there is corrosion or other problems with the connectors
Update control software where necessary
